While the tradition in the west is to send Christmas Cards, in Japan the equivalent is to send New Year greeting postcards known as 'Nengajo'. Typically, nengajo feature a message thanking the recipient for their kindness in the previous year as well as wishes for the coming year and a design featuring the animal of the Chinese zodiac for that year. For 2009 it was the cow. For 2010, it will be the tiger.
Nengajo are accepted by post offices in Japan from mid December until the end of December but are not delivered until January 1st. Some people and businesses send and receive hundreds of nengajo.
We offer 2 sizes, but postage will depend on card size:
¥50 / card for regular post card
¥80 / card for wide post card
